The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Washington County in south central Illinois...
  Southeastern Saint Clair County in southwestern Illinois...

* Until 530 AM CDT.

* At 505 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located over Marissa, or 10 miles north of Sparta, moving east
  at 80 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
           to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
           likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  New Athens, Lenzburg, Marissa, Fayetteville, St. Libory, Lively
  Grove, Johannisburg, Venedy, Oakdale, Okawville, Addieville,
  Covington, Nashville, New Minden, Beaucoup, Hoyleton, Richview,
  Irvington, Ashley and Wamac.

This includes Interstate 64 in Illinois between exits 41 and 61.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building
away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a
vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself
from flying debris.
