  Yellow River at Babcock affecting Wood County.



For the Yellow River...including Babcock...Moderate flooding is 
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL SATURDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is 
  forecast.

* WHERE...Yellow River at Babcock.

* WHEN...Until Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 15.6 feet, Floodwaters are near a couple of homes in 
  the Babcock area near Highway 173.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 14.5 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:00 PM CDT Wednesday was 14.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 15.9 feet tomorrow morning.
    It will then fall below flood stage by late tomorrow
    afternoon and then to 9.3 feet Friday morning.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
