The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Elkhart County in north central Indiana...
  Central St. Joseph County in north central Indiana...
  Southeastern Cass MI County in southwestern Michigan...

* Until 530 AM EDT.

* At 224 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of 
  rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 
  hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  South Bend, Elkhart, Mishawaka, Goshen, Dunlap, Simonton Lake, 
  Granger, Gulivoire Park, Middlebury, Osceola, North Liberty, 
  Wakarusa, Bristol, Lakeville, Union, Jimtown, Adamsville, 
  Southwest, Eagle Lake and Juno Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
