...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 AM CST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following 
  counties, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston and Harris.

* WHEN...Until 630 AM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 355 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain in a short period of time due to
    thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause
    minor flooding in the advisory area...moreso on feeder roads
    and near construction zones. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
    has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    League City, Galveston Causeway, Galveston Island West End,
    Texas City, southern Friendswood, Alvin, Dickinson, La
    Marque, Santa Fe, Webster, Hitchcock, Manvel, Kemah, Bayou
    Vista, Iowa Colony, Tiki Island, Hillcrest, Bacliff, San Leon
    and Offatts Bayou.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
