...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 AM MDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northern Utah, including the following 
  county, Salt Lake.

* WHEN...Until 1015 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 819 AM MDT, Department of Transportation officials
    reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to
    thunderstorms. This is causing urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 0.25 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Murray, West Jordan,
    Taylorsville, South Jordan, Draper, Riverton, Cottonwood
    Heights, Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Herriman,
    Bluffdale, Little Cottonwood Creek Valley, Cottonwood West,
    Granite, Millcreek and East Millcreek.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
