GALE WARNING FOR SOUTHERN AREA

SITUATION AT 0600UTC
Vigorous westerly flow associated with cold front near 52S153E 61S154E,
forecast near 53S159E 62S162E at 021200UTC, and moving east of the warning area
thereafter.

AREA AFFECTED
Bounded by 52S147E 56S147E 61S160E 54S160E 52S147E.

FORECAST
Northwesterly quarter winds east of cold front. shifting southwesterly quarter
winds west of cold front. Wind speeds 30/40 knots within 240nm of front. Winds
associated with cold front easing below 34 knots throughout by 021500UTC. Rough
to very rough seas. Moderate to heavy swell.

than the forecast, and stronger still in squalls and thunderstorms. Maximum
