GALE WARNING 10 FOR SOUTHEASTERN AREA

IMPACT
This is a dangerous weather event that includes cyclonic conditions. It can
lead to excessive ship movements including severe
roll, pitch, and yaw, leading to reduced ship vessel control.

ACTION
Mariners should take early and adequate evasive action, activate ship safety
plans, check cargo securing arrangements, and
if possible avoid the area.

SITUATION AT 1800UTC
Vigorous flow associated with two lows. Low [1] 997hPa near 34.5S152.5E,
forecast low 997hPa near 34S153E at 300000UTC, low 996hPa near 33.5S154E at
300600UTC, low 997hPa near 33S155E at 301200UTC, and low 993hPa near 35S157E at
301800UTC.
Low [2] 1001hPa near 29S155.5E, forecast low 1000hPa near 30S156E at 300000UTC,
low 995hPa near 31.5S158E at 300600UTC, low 996hPa near 33.5S158E at 301200UTC,
and then joining low [1].

AREA AFFECTED
Bounded by 32S163E 36S163E 38S156E 35S151E 33S151E 28S157E 32S163E.

FORECAST
Clockwise winds 30/40 knots within 180nm of lows. Rough to very rough seas.
Moderate to heavy swell.
