...CIVIL EMERGENCY MESSAGE FOR SHELBY AND PANOLA COUNTIES...

The following message is transmitted at the request of the Texas
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY.

This is an urgent message concerning flooding related to high
water in the Sabine River. Low-lying areas of Shelby and Panola
Counties face potential flooding. This event is dependent upon
upstream rainfall which has occurred over the past few days.
Prepare accordingly and be aware of your surroundings as events
may quickly change. Keep medication, a change of clothing, and
other essentials nearby in order to take with you, in case
evacuations become necessary in your locations.

The primary areas of concern include locations along and near the
Sabine River and its tributaries. Remember, if you encounter
flooded roads, turn around, don't drown. 

Please reach out to county officials for more details about the 
flooding concern which will last at least several days.
