An Atmospheric River Event is forecasted to bring significant snow and strong winds to our mountains overnight Thursday through Friday, with 2 feet of snow and strong winds. * WHERE...Wheeler Peak Wilderness Area and Columbine Hondo Wilderness above 9000 feet. * WHEN... In effect from Wednesday 17:00 MST to Friday 04:00 MST. * IMPACTS...Heavy snow combined with strong wind will likely create widespread areas of unstable snow. * PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Very dangerous avalanche conditions are expected to develop quickly early Friday, February 14th.
