DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Typhoon Shanshan was
located near Latitude 24.4 degrees North and Longitude
139.2 degrees East. Shanshan is moving northwest at 21 mph. It is
expected to maintain this general course with a decrease in
forward speed through Monday.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 75 mph. Shanshan is forecast to
intensify through tonight.

Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to
30 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the
center up to 115 miles.
