The following message is transmitted at the request of the
Valdez Avalanche Center.

...THE VALDEZ AVALANCHE CENTER HAS ISSUED AN AVALANCHE WARNING
FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS: VALDEZ, THOMPSON PASS THROUGH 7:00 AM
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...The backcountry avalanche danger is HIGH. Dangerous
  avalanche conditions exist. Destructive natural and human- 
  triggered avalanches are likely.

* WHERE...For the mountains surrounding the Valdez and Thompson
  Pass area. 

* WHEN...In effect through Saturday 7:00 AM AKST.

* IMPACTS...Heavy snow loads on a weak snowpack are creating
  widespread areas of instability. Human-triggered avalanches are very
  likely. Natural avalanches are likely. Avalanche debris may run
  into valley bottoms. 

* PRECAUTIONARY / PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Travel in avalanche
  terrain  is NOT recommended. Travelers should stay off of...and
  out from underneath slopes steeper than 30 degrees. Avalanches 
  may run long distances. 

Similar avalanche danger may exist outside the area specified.
