...A SNOW SQUALL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CST FOR
NORTHEASTERN ROCK ISLAND...WESTERN WHITESIDE AND CENTRAL CARROLL
COUNTIES...

At 658 PM CST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from near Lanark to near Newton Corners, moving east at 50
mph.

HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to 
         blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than 
         one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater than 50 mph could 
         knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

SOURCE...Trained spotter.

IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous 
         within minutes.

This includes Interstate 88 between mile markers 16 and 22.
 
Locations impacted include...
Morrison, Mount Carroll, Fulton, Savanna, Erie, Garden Plain,
Fairhaven, Albany, Cordova, Sabula, Chadwick, East Clinton, Argo Fay,
Union Grove, Ustick, Thomson, Fenton, Wacker, Ideal, and White
Pigeon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.

Reduce speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the
visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions.
