...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS 
EVENING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL MANATEE AND NORTHWESTERN SARASOTA 
COUNTIES...

At 852 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicates that the thunderstorms 
producing the heavy rain are moving east away from the warned area. 
Between 5 and 10 inches of rain has fallen, but only light 
additional amounts are expected in the warned area. Flash flooding 
is ongoing, but conditions should begin to improve over the next few 
hours.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Sarasota, Saint Armands Key, Southgate, South Sarasota, Ridge Wood 
  Heights, North Sarasota, South Gate Ridge, Kensington Park, 
  Sarasota Springs, Sarasota Bradenton Airport, Gulf Gate Estates, 
  The Meadows, Lake Sarasota, Bradenton Beach, Desoto Lakes, Bee 
  Ridge, Fruitville, Turtle Beach, Vamo and Bayshore Gardens.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
