At 531 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in central and southern Houghton County. Three to six inches of rain have already fallen over the past 5 hours. Flash flooding is already occurring. Law enforcement reports that multiple roads are impassable and have asked that residents stay off area roadways until the water subsides and debris is cleared. This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for central and southern Houghton County. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! Some locations that will experience flooding include... Houghton, Baraga, L'anse, Calumet, Hancock, Laurium, Chassell, Lake Linden, South Range, Covington, Alberta and Redridge.
