...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EST THIS 
AFTERNOON FOR EASTERN GASTON, MECKLENBURG AND NORTHEASTERN YORK 
COUNTIES...

At 306 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have 
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in 
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing.

Stream gage reports across greater Charlotte were nearing moderate 
flood stage in spots, considerable flash flooding will continue to 
be seen across Mallard, McMullen, Briar, Little Sugar and Stewart 
Creeks through late afternoon.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.




PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
