...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 PM EDT FOR
LANCASTER...CHESTERFIELD AND NORTHERN KERSHAW COUNTIES...

At 1222 PM EDT, bands of heavy rain continue over the warned area. 
Up to 15 inches of rain has fallen so far near the town of 
Chesterfield. Numerous roads across Chesterfield County are flooded 
and impassable, mainly in low lying areas and bridges.  Several 
roads across Lancaster County are also flooded and impassable. Flash 
flooding is already occurring. Flooding in other areas expected to 
develop as well as heavy rain continues.  

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded
roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown.

Flash flooding will occur near small creeks and streams, country
roads, farmland and other low lying spots. Avoid traveling in the
warned area.
