The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Jefferson County in central Colorado...
  Northwestern Denver County in northeastern Colorado...

* Until 600 PM MDT.

* At 407 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of 
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
           roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Northwestern Denver, northeastern Lakewood, southeastern Arvada, 
  southern Commerce City, eastern Wheat Ridge, Edgewater and 
  Mountain View.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small 
creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas 
and other low lying spots.
