The National Weather Service in Des Moines  has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Union County in south central Iowa...

* Until 130 AM CDT Thursday.

* At 724 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated nearly stationary 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 
  two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected 
  to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Creston, Green Valley Lake, Afton, Lorimor, Cromwell, Arispe,
  Shannon City, Kent, Thayer, Creston Municipal Airport and Green
  Valley Lake State Park.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches per hour are 
possible through 830 pm.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
