The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Mason County in central Illinois...
  Fulton County in west central Illinois...

* Until 930 AM CDT Tuesday.

* At 125 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 8 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are 
  possible in the warned area.  Local law enforcement reports that a 
  number of roads are flooded and impassable. They also indicated 
  that some roads are buckling. Flash flooding is ongoing.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Canton, Havana, Lewistown, Cuba, Avon, St. David, Ipava, Table 
  Grove, Dunfermline, Bernadotte, Smithfield, Bryant, Banner, 
  Liverpool, Marietta, Ellisville, Topeka, Fiatt, Duncan Mills and 
  Little America.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
