* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Graham County in northwestern Kansas...
  Sheridan County in northwestern Kansas...
  Southeastern Thomas County in northwestern Kansas...
  Gove County in west central Kansas...
  Eastern Logan County in west central Kansas...

* Until 315 AM CDT.

* At 1121 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Oakley, Hill City, Hoxie, Quinter, Grainfield, Grinnell, Gove, 
  Selden, Morland, Bogue, Monument, Park, Menlo, Seguin, Angelus, 
  Tasco, Studley, Saint Peter, Penokee and The Monument Rocks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
