The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Lowndes County in northeastern Mississippi...

* Until 200 PM CST.

* At 1210 PM CST, Emergency management reported flash flooding along 
  portions of 18 Street, 15th Street, and College Street. Between 2 
  and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already 
  occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas. There will be
           possibility of continuation of flooding over the next
           several hours.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbus, Artesia, Bent Oak and Steens.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
