The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Jefferson County in southeastern Nebraska...

* Until 800 AM CDT.

* At 421 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated additional thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain are moving into the warned area. Between 1 
  and 3 inches of rain have already fallen. The expected rainfall 
  rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 
  to 2 inches are possible in the warned area over the next two to 
  three hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Fairbury, Plymouth, Endicott, Jansen, Reynolds, Harbine, Crystal 
  Springs Campground, Camp Jefferson, Rock Creek Station State 
  Historical Park, Cub Creek Recreational Area, Gladstone and 
  Buckley Creek Recreational Area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
