The National Weather Service in North Platte has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Custer County in central Nebraska...
  Southeastern Blaine County in north central Nebraska...
  Southwestern Loup County in north central Nebraska...

* Until midnight CDT tonight.

* At 547 PM CDT, Emergency management reports flash flooding in the 
  vicinity of highway 21 and road 797. . Between 3 and 6 inches of 
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring 
  and expected to continue through midnight CDT.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Broken Bow, Lillian, Gates and Walworth.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
