The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Valencia County in central New Mexico...

* Until 800 PM MDT.

* At 503 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms moving slowly 
  east with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Up to 1 inch 
  of rain has fallen around the Belen Airport. Additional rainfall 
  amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash 
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Belen, Los Trujillos-Gabaldon, Jarales, Rio Communities, Casa 
  Colorada, Los Chaves, Tome, Rio Communities North and Adelino.

This includes Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 185 and 198.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Arroyos, streams, and normally dry rivers can become raging killer 
currents in a matter of minutes. Water in arroyos can travel many 
miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.
