The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  West Central Columbia County in east central New York...
  Southeastern Greene County in east central New York...
  Northeastern Ulster County in east central New York...

* Until 1130 PM EDT.

* At 938 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of 
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Hudson, Catskill, Saugerties, Athens, Veteran, Germantown, 
  Centerville, Asbury, Alsen, Cementon, Kiskatom, Saxton, Eavesport, 
  Smith Landing, Katsbaan, Quarryville, Cheviot, Malden-On-Hudson, 
  Canoe Hill and Malden.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Plattekill Creek, Catskill Creek, Roeliff Jansen Kill, Hudson 
  River, Claverack Creek, Murderers Creek, Stony Brook, Lucas Kill, 
  Vly Creek, Sawyer Kill, Corlaer Kill, Mineral Spring Brook, Potic 
  Creek, Esopus Creek, Klein Kill and Kaaterskill Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
