The National Weather Service in Buffalo has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Monroe County in western New York...

* Until 915 AM EDT.

* At 627 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  earlier thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. 
  Between 3 and 4 inches of rain has fallen since Tuesday evening. 
  Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inch are possible in the 
  warned area as only a few more showers are expected. Flash 
  flooding is ongoing.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Rochester, Greece, Irondequoit, Hilton, Brighton, Gates-North 
  Gates, Charlotte, Braddock Bay and Rochester General Hospital.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
