The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  West Central Galveston County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 1045 AM CDT.

* At 840 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 
  inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Texas City, La Marque, Santa Fe, Hitchcock and Bayou Vista.

This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
Farm to Market 646 at Highland Bayou, Laurel Street at Lower 
Highland Bayou Tributary, State Highway 6 at Interstate 45 South, 
Avenue P at Highland Bayou, Avenue Q1/2 at Highland Bayou, Seventh 
St at Highland Bayou, Fourth Street at Dickinson Bayou tributaries 
and Fourth Street at Dickinson Bayou tributary.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
