...FLOOD WATCH WILL EXPIRE AT 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch will expire for portions of northeast Georgia, 
North Carolina and upstate South Carolina, including the following 
areas, in northeast Georgia, Franklin, Habersham, Hart, Rabun and 
Stephens. In North Carolina, Alexander, Avery, Buncombe, Burke 
Mountains, Caldwell Mountains, Eastern McDowell, Eastern Polk, 
Graham, Greater Burke, Greater Caldwell, Greater Rutherford, 
Haywood, Henderson, Macon, Madison, McDowell Mountains, Mitchell, 
Northern Jackson, Polk Mountains, Rutherford Mountains, Southern 
Jackson, Swain, Transylvania and Yancey. In upstate South Carolina, 
Central Greenville, Greater Oconee, Greater Pickens, Greenville 
Mountains, Northern Spartanburg, Oconee Mountains and Pickens 
Mountains.

Scattered showers will continue to move across the area through late 
tonight, however the flood threat is expected to gradually diminish 
over the next several hours.
