...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central Arkansas, north central Arkansas and 
  southwest Arkansas, including the following counties, in central 
  Arkansas, Conway, Faulkner, Garland, Grant, Perry, Pulaski and 
  Saline. In north central Arkansas, Van Buren. In southwest 
  Arkansas, Dallas and Hot Spring.

* WHEN...Until 245 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water 
  crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It 
  will take several hours for all the water from these storms to 
  work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1146 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Little Rock, North Little Rock, Conway, Hot Springs, Benton,
    West Little Rock, Maumelle, Bryant, Hot Springs Village,
    Malvern, Downtown Little Rock, Morrilton, Sheridan,
    Perryville, Southwest Little Rock, North Little Rock Airport,
    Greenbrier, Haskell, Shannon Hills and Mayflower.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
