...THE ARROYO AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
400 PM MDT FOR CENTRAL CHAFFEE COUNTY...

At 307 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have moved east 
of the Chalk Cliffs. However, with radar estimates of 1/2 inch to 
locally 1 inch of rain over the past hour, flooding of arroyos and 
small streams is likely in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Alpine and St Elmo. 

This includes the following streams and drainages...Denny Creek... 
Cottonwood Creek...Powell Creek...Middle Cottonwood Creek...North 
Cottonwood Creek...Baldwin Gulch...Eddy Creek...Hughes Creek...Chalk 
Creek... Baldwin Creek...South Cottonwood Creek...Silver 
Creek...North Fork Chalk Creek...North Fork Middle Cottonwood Creek 
and Cyclone Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
