...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including 
  the following counties, in east central Colorado, northwestern 
  Elbert. In northeast Colorado, southwestern Arapahoe and 
  northeastern Douglas.

* WHEN...Until 745 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Rises in small streams and creeks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

    - At 448 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in
    the advisory area due to thunderstorms. This is causing urban
    and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas
    have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area.
    Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.

    - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

    - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Southwestern Aurora, eastern Centennial, Parker, Arapahoe
    Park and Foxfield.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
