...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Florida, including 
  the following counties, in south central Florida, DeSoto. In 
  southwest Florida, Charlotte.

* WHEN...Until 1215 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 911 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    North Port, Punta Gorda, Arcadia, Port Charlotte, Charlotte
    County Airport, Southeast Arcadia, Harbour Heights,
    Cleveland, Lake Suzy, Charlotte Harbor, Solana, Fort Ogden,
    Charlotte Park, Murdock, Nocatee, El Jobean, Gulf Cove,
    Placida, Rotonda and Grove City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
