...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast, southern, and southwest Florida, 
  including the following counties, in southeast Florida, Broward 
  and Palm Beach. In southern Florida, Glades and Hendry. In 
  southwest Florida, Collier.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of 
  water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 132 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 4 and 9 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Belle Glade, Clewiston, South Bay, Labelle, Montura, Lake
    Harbor, Immokalee, Big Cypress Seminole Reservation,
    Rotenberger Wildlife Refuge, Devils Garden, Hendry
    Correctional, Holey Land Wildlife Refuge, Miccosukee Indian
    Reservation, Okeelanta, Miccosukee Service Plaza, Belle Glade
    Camp, Felda, Port La Belle, Intersection Alligator Alley And
    Miami Canal and Big Cypress National Preserve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
