...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Kansas, including 
  the following counties, in southwest Kansas, Finney. In west 
  central Kansas, Lane, Ness and Scott.

* WHEN...Until 1230 AM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1228 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned
    area. Between 2 and 8 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Scott City, Dighton, Alamota, Grigston, Manning, Amy, Healy,
    Shallow Water, Shields, Scott State Lake, Modoc and
    Pendennis.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
