...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall 
  continues.

* WHERE...Portions of central and northern Maryland, including the 
  following counties, in central Maryland, Anne Arundel and Howard. 
  In northern Maryland, Baltimore and Baltimore City.

* WHEN...Until 200 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams 
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1033 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated that flooding is
    ongoing at Elkridge. Flooding is already occurring in the
    warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain fell this
    evening.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Baltimore...                       Elkridge...
    Catonsville...                     Arbutus...
    Brooklyn Park...                   Ilchester...
    Linthicum...                       Lansdowne...
  - This includes the following Flood Prone Roads...
    Levering Avenue at River Road, Route 1 at Levering Avenue
    near the Patapsco and Furnace Avenue at Ridge Road.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
