...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Michigan, including the following 
  counties, Cass MI and St. Joseph MI.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 635 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    2.68 inches of rain was reported 2 miles south of
    Howardsville and standing water over 6 inches deep in
    Dowagiac.
  - Additional training heavy showers along a Dowagiac to Mendon
    line will continue through 730 pm EDT. An additional inch of
    rainfall is possible in portions of northern Cass and
    northern St. Joseph county.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Dowagiac, Marcellus, Mendon, Howardsville, Moore Park and
    Fishers Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
