...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall continues.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton and St. Louis Counties and 
  Wisconsin, Douglas County.

* WHEN...Until 1015 AM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over 
  roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 403 AM CDT Wednesday, local law enforcement reported some
    minor river flooding along the Nemadji river in Superior.
    Heavy rain in the advisory area that has fallen in the past
    12 hours will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between
    1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Duluth, Superior, Cloquet, Hermantown, Proctor, Scanlon,
    Carlton, Mahtowa, Oliver, Wrenshall, Holyoke, Thomson,
    Brookston, Jay Cooke State Park, Pike Lake Near Duluth,
    Saginaw, City of Rice Lake, Fond Du Lac Band Cloquet Area,
    Foxboro and Pattison State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you 
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather 
Service at 1-800-685-8612.
