The National Weather Service in Jackson has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
  Carroll County in north central Mississippi...
  Grenada County in north central Mississippi...
  Leflore County in north central Mississippi...
  Montgomery County in north central Mississippi...

* Until 1115 AM CST Saturday.

* Over the past several days widespread rainfall amounts from eight 
  to eleven inches of rain have fallen over the area. Periods of 
  heavy rain from last night and yesterday have caused flash 
  flooding. In addition, many rivers and streams are high and may 
  lead to additional flooding of homes and roadways. 

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Greenwood, Grenada, Winona, Itta Bena, Black Hawk, Leflore,
  Jefferson, Vaiden, Duck Hill, Kilmichael, Sidon, North Carrollton,
  Gore Springs, Teoc, Malmaison, Minter City, Avalon, Quito, Lodi and
  Poplar Creek.

Additional rainfall amounts up to an inch are possible through the 
early morning hours as scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms 
periodically redevelop over the warned area. Additional, heavier, 
thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon that will bring 
potential for another quick inch or two of rainfall to isolated 
locations. Any further heavy rainfall will only worsen the high 
water situation and numerous roads are already flooded or closed. 
Standing water will continue across the warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
