...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast North Carolina, including the 
  following counties, Bertie, Chowan, Gates, Hertford and 
  Northampton.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1204 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is already occurring in
    the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Ahoskie, Windsor, Murfreesboro, Rich Square, Aulander,
    Gatesville, Chowan University, Ryland, Sunbury, Gates,
    Conway, Woodland, Winton, Seaboard, Lewiston Woodville,
    Cofield, Powellsville, Roxobel, Colerain and Harrellsville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
