...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast North Carolina, including the 
  following counties, Hertford and Northampton and southeast 
  Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, 
  City of Franklin, Greensville, Isle of Wight and Southampton.

* WHEN...Until 130 AM EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1032 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
    flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
    advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen during
    the past hour.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area through 1130 PM.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Franklin, Smithfield, Windsor, Courtland, Garysburg, Boykins,
    Dahlia, Suffolk, Isle Of Wight, Gaston, Conway, Seaboard,
    Ivor, Newsoms, Hunterdale, Sedley, Carrsville, Green Plain,
    Claresville and Zuni.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
