...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST TODAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the 
  following county, Polk.

* WHEN...Until noon EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 744 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen across the
    county early this morning.  As heavy rain continues, expect
    developing flooding throughout the Green and North Pacolet
    River basins.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
