...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, including the 
  following county, Litchfield, western Massachusetts, including the 
  following county, Berkshire, and east central New York, including 
  the following counties, Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster.

* WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 600 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will
    cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches
    of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Torrington, Poughkeepsie, New Milford, Beacon, Great
    Barrington, New Paltz, Rhinebeck, Pawling, Wallkill, Hyde
    Park, Milton, Plattekill, Pleasant Valley, Thomaston, New
    Hartford, Wappingers Falls, Amenia, Copake, Sheffield and
    Kent.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
