...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following 
  counties, Juniata, Mifflin and Perry.

* WHEN...Until 300 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water 
  crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 156 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
    Between 5 and 7 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    New Bloomfield, Spruce Hill, Mexico, Ickesburg, Loysville,
    Walnut, Mifflintown, Port Royal, Thompsontown, Mifflin and
    Landisburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
