The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Kingsbury County in east central South Dakota...
  Sanborn County in east central South Dakota...
  Southern Beadle County in east central South Dakota...
  Eastern Jerauld County in central South Dakota...
  Northwestern Miner County in east central South Dakota...

* Until 445 PM CDT.

* At 242 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain which will cause flooding. Up to four inches of rain 
  have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Wessington Springs, Woonsocket, Alpena, Carthage, Artesian,
  Forestburg, Lane, Fedora and Roswell.

Rainfall is expected to gradually diminish through 4 PM and then end 
between 5 and 6 PM. Additional rainfall amounts of to one inch are 
possible in the warned area.

The public reported around 3.5 inches of rain in Alpena, South 
Dakota flooding fields in the area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
