FOR SOUTHEASTERN JONES...SOUTH CENTRAL CRAVEN AND SOUTHWESTERN
CARTERET COUNTIES...

At 621 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Peletier, or 12
miles west of Newport, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to 
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Morehead City, Stella, Cape Carteret, Kuhns, Peletier, Broad Creek,
Bogue, Bogue Inlet Pier, and Cedar Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
