The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Kauai Channel...
  Oahu Leeward Waters...

* Until 715 PM HST.

* At 519 PM HST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located 39 nm southeast of FAD Buoy CK, or 46 nm
  southeast of Poipu, moving east at 25 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and small 
           hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  FAD Buoy CO.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding
downpours. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are
wearing life jackets.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water, stay below deck if possible.
