Northwest winds and very low humidity will create an elevated wildfire threat this afternoon. The strongest winds of 15 to 30 mph will be seen in the morning hours...but should weaken some by this afternoon to around 10 to 15 mph. Gusts could still exceed 20 mph this afternoon...when the driest air will be in place. Any fires that develop could spread rapidly as a result. Any burning is strongly discouraged given the threat for fast spreading fires. The Arkansas Department of Agriculture Forestry Division has almost the entire state in moderate to high wildfire danger at this time. If a wild or grass fire is observed...report it by dialing 911...or report it to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture Forestry Division at 800-468-8834. $$
