...A BAND OF HEAVY SNOW MOVING THROUGH APACHE COUNTY...

At 748 PM MDT/648 PM MST/, a band of heavy snow was located near
Piney Hill, or 29 miles northwest of Gallup, moving west at 20 mph.

Locations impacted include...
Cornfields Chapter House, Piney Hill, Window Rock Airport, Burnside,
Klagetoh, Pine Springs, Window Rock, Hubbell Trading Post National
Historic Site, Wide Ruins, Steamboat Canyon, Cornfields, Hunters
Point, Oak Springs, Upper Wheatfields, Greasewood Springs,
Wheatfields Lake, Upper Forest Mountain, Nazlini, Sonsela Buttes, and
Sunrise Springs.

This includes the following highways...
 State Route 264 between mile markers 423 and 475.
 Highway 191 between mile markers 380 and 431.

The snow can accumulate at a rate of one inch per hour or more in
this band of heavy snow. 

Visibilities are below one half of a mile in this band of heavy 
snow. Low visibility shortens the amount of time you have to react 
to situations.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. 
Consider delaying travel if you will be going through this band of 
heavy snow. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and 
allow extra time when traveling.
