  South central Lincoln County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
  Northwestern Gaston County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 400 PM EDT.

* At 342 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles south of
  Lincolnton, or 4 miles east of Cherryville, moving east at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect 
           considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Cherryville, Crouse, and High Shoals.
