  Beaufort County in eastern North Carolina...

* Until 615 PM EDT.

* At 510 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Pactolus to Jason, moving east at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Public.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
           considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Greenville, New Bern, Kinston, Washington, Winterville, Ayden, La
  Grange, River Road, Grifton, Snow Hill, Ransomville, Pinetown,
  Pungo, Blounts Creek, Vanceboro, Askins, Shelmerdine, Cayton,
  Pactolus, and Calico.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay
away from windows.
